Well, isn't Taiwan part of China at first? But why PRCs have to apply for visa in order to travel to Taiwan? (paid $150 for it so...better know what's going on and thus did some research).
So this is what I found out...
The nationals of both Malaysia and Singapore are eligible for visa exemption program which permits a duration stay up to 30 days! ( we are only going for 7 days, no wonder...) Taiwan and Singapore signed agreement so visa is not required for them. Apparently China and Taiwan didn't sign this agreement then. (#NOOOOOOOO. )
Singapore–Taiwan relations are the international relations between Singapore and the Republic of China. Both countries have had unofficial relations since the independence of Singapore and the establishment of Kuomintang rule over the island of Taiwan. They have also signed other agreements such as enjoying free trade between one another.
